This sacrament of Christ’s forgiveness is celebrated Saturdays 4:00 to 4:45 PM and at Interparochial Communal Services during Advent and Lent. |
| CONFIRMATION: |
|
The sacrament of Confirmation completes the process of Christian initiation begun at Baptism. It celebrates and acknowledges the presence and action of the Holy Spirit in our lives and the life of the Church. St. John's Youth Confirmation Program is a two year program for high school youth. It meets for four sessions during each year allowing the candidates time for discernment and formation as they seek to follow Christ as one of His disciples. There is retreat time and information meetings to guide candidates on the journey. Facilitators, sponsors, families and the entire church community work together to assist and empower the candidates as they give witness to their faith in words and action by using their gifts to live out their Christian vocation. Adult Confirmation (18 years and older) follows the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) Process. Because of the sacredness and life long commitment of the marital covenant, we urge couples to begin preparation for marriage immediately after the engagement but not less than one year previous to the wedding date. | MINISTRY TO THE SICK: |

In case of severe illness contact the Parish Office for a priest to visit for the Sacrament of Anointing. Contact Sr. Mary McFarland at 201 666-2707, ext. 215 to arrange home visitation and communion for those who cannot attend Sunday liturgy. All are invited to our annual parish celebration of the Anointing of the Sick. Contact the Pastoral Care Office at area Hospitals for a Catholic priest to visit for the Sacrament of Anointing and to arrange for communion while patients are in the hospital. |
